Pensacola Festival Park/Maritime Park, Pensacola, FL

Pensacola Festival Park-Maritime Park 1Fabre Engineering & Surveying was a member of the original downtown waterfront park (Trillium) design team.  This project was a 15 acre park to be used by the public.  Our responsibilities included all drainage and utility design as well as pavement design.  The project design included an innovative stormwater treatment system with a large aesthetic water feature pond.  The pond was designed to be lined to prevent interface of stormwater with potentially contaminated soils.  The project also included an innovative underground stormwater system beneath the grassed seating area of the amphitheatre.  The system was designed to allow rapid removal of drainage to quickly restore seating capacity.

Fabre Engineering & Surveying also performed a complete boundary & topographic survey of the site, mapping of jurisdictional wetlands, mean high water line location, and a hydrographic survey of Pensacola Bay within 100 feet of the shore.  This project was performed using real time, Global Positioning System equipment.  Construction layout was also performed for the new bulkhead line, and for the proposed new auditorium.

Fabre Engineering & Surveying was reselected and provided the detailed design criteria guidance, preliminary design, and initial permitting for stormwater treatment facilities on the new 40 acre Maritime Park.  We were also responsible for overall site grading and general civil design guidance.  The stormwater design included wet retention facilities, underground retention/detention, and traditional dry pond design.  The park includes a multi-use stadium, amphitheatre, maritime museum, class rooms and conference center, waterfront promenades, and festival park areas.  The first phase budget is in excess of $40 million.  Services provided:  Surveying, Preparation of Phase I construction plans and specifications, and permitting.
