Clear Creek/Whiting Field Off Highway Vehicle (OHV) Trail/Riding Area
Fabre Engineering & Surveying is providing professional engineering and surveying services to the Florida Department of Agriculture for the design of the Clear Creek/Whiting Field OHV Trail Riding Area to address many issues, including protecting nature, wildlife and historical resources, user demand; safety and personal training. Fabre Engineering & Surveying is providing services including the design and engineering of the site, cost estimation, contract administration, and construction monitoring. The initial phase of the project is on a 640 acre natural site that has been fully fenced. The proposed design includes an improved non-paved entrance road fromWhiting Field Roadto a staffed entrance station. There will be a central parking lot designed for the maximum number of vehicles as allowed by the carrying capacity established for the park. There will be four distinct trail heads, an OHV parking area at one of the picnic pavilions, and a youth riding/training area. Electric and water utilities will be installed. Facilities include restrooms, ranger gate house, and pole barn. Additionalsupportfacilities that have already been built, include a helicopter pad for emergency air evacuation and a mobile home site that will house the campground host for after hours security. Estimated construction cost: $800,000.00.
