Pensacola Downtown Library
The Pensacola Downtown Library project is a 24,000 square foot addition and complete renovation to the existing 26,000 square foot library. Expanded areas to include: new entry lobby, community room, electronic services, children’s area, fiction and non-fiction collections.
Fabre Engineering & Surveying is responsible for the civil design and permitting for the new library in Downtown Pensacola. Scope of work includes preliminary engineering, utility coordination, demolition, grading, drainage and geometry plans for the retrofit of the existing library site to accommodate a new library. The library building will double in size and the project will include the demolition of an abandoned fire station to accommodate the site plan. The site challenges include retrofitting a site in a downtown environment with existing streets and utilities surrounding a property with substantial topography. Stormwater management will be provided by underground retention. This project is designed to be LEED certified.
