Fabre Engineering & Surveying
Fabre Engineering & Surveying teamed up with Quina Grundhoefer Architects to design and permit a brand new facility for the Institute for Human and Machine Cognition (IHMC). Our duties for the project included Surveying and Civil site design as well as permitting through the City of Pensacola. The new facility consists of a three story 29,000 square foot building with associated parking and stormwater system located in downtown Pensacola. Fabre Engineering & Surveying was involved in the design of the parking area, stormwater conveyance and storage, water supply, and the sanitary sewer from the building. The building site was previously developed several times and utility conflicts became a reoccurring issue due to poor historical information on the site. Due to these conflicts, redesigns of the sanitary sewer and stormwater systems were performed to address each issue. The stormwater system consisted of stormwater piping; a 100 year, stormwater retention pond; and a stormwater pumping station.
